Bowen Therapy activates the body’s innate healing ability. The technique shifts the body from a stress state (Sympathetic nervous system - fight, flight & freeze) into rest, relax, digest and repair (parasympathetic nervous system). This is when healing can occur.
Client Testimonials
Absolutely loved Kathryn’s Bowen treatment today! The energy that she brings through adds another layer of specialness that can be felt and creates a deeper feeling of relaxation and centredness. Highly recommended! Anaya S.
Thanks for the Bowen and Access Bars treatment. I had instant relief from stiffness and shoulder pain. I was so relaxed in the treatment, I fell asleep and felt 10 years younger afterwards. I feel happy and energetic today and not feeling the withdrawal symptoms that I have been since giving up nicotine. George P.

I recommend Bowen as an ongoing relaxation treatment for overall wellbeing.
If a specific pain is being targeted, an improvement may be seen after 2 - 3 sessions. People may also feel instant relief during and after a treatment. For injuries and conditions that have been experienced for quite some time it may take longer, around 6+ treatments. Every body and the circumstance is unique so it is best not to have an expectation about the time or number of treatments it will take to change something.

Sometimes after a treatment, one may experience a "healing crisis," which is when the body responds to the therapy by magnifying symptoms. This process is often seen as a positive sign that the body is repairing/restoring. During a healing crisis, the body may release toxins, and people might experience increased muscle and nerve tension. To alleviate these symptoms, it is recommended to increase water intake, engage in light activities like walking, eat lightly and increase rest.
